Councillor for Ward 93, Candice James supports A Re Sebetseng clean-up

SUNNINGHILL– Read what took place in Ward 93.

Ward 93 councillor Candice James and community members came together on 27 January to conduct an A Re Sebetseng clean-up of the Sunninghill area.

James said they cleaned up the street from Chilli on Top all the way past Builders Warehouse to the Sasol garage intersection. “I would like to thank the staff of Builders Warehouse and Sunninghill Square shopping centre for supporting us.”

She thanked everyone who participated, particularly Linda Geldenhys, the Sunninghill community, PR Ward 93 branch members and children from St Peter’s and Beaulieu colleges. “The clean-up was very successful and we had a special visit from Cameron Makenzie, our political leader and MP.”

To combat pollution in the ward, James said community members needed to ensure that they properly dispose of their rubbish. “If we all just threw our rubbish in the bins we wouldn’t have this issue.”

The next clean-up will take place at Umhlanga taxi rank.
