One such incident resulted in a head-on collision.
According to Berdou on the afternoon of 10 January, a light-duty van was struck by a rock about 3km from the airport. “The van’s windscreen was severely damaged and as a result the driver lost control of the vehicle which resulted in an accident,” said Berdou.
“The driver is critically injured and is in hospital.”
Berdou added that the forum and Future City Fourways condemned the dangerous criminal act. “We call upon the police and Metro police to take immediate steps to secure the vitally important link road between Lanseria Airport and Gauteng.

“We call on the community using Lanseria to be vigilant and report all suspicious activity to the police immediately.”
