Illegal dumpsites are set to be a rarity in the Hyde Park area as Pikitup and the City of Joburg have started to clear rubble illegally dumped on the island dividing William Nicol, at the Jan Smuts split in Hyde Park.
This is according to Ward 90 councillor, Martin Williams, who tweeted on Thursday that the city’s waste entity, Pikitup’s efforts are part of the City of Joburg’s #AreSebetseng (Let’s Work) campaign which aims to keep Johannesburg clean.
