Fourways High School Class of 2017 receives their matric results

FOURWAYS – Read what the top achiever of Fourways High School, Nhlanhla Simelane, had to say about top performance.

Fourways High School Class of 2017 received their matric results and the top achiever of the school, Nhlanhla Simelane who attained eight As, shared her future plans.

“I am really happy that my results came out the way they did as I would not call myself an overachiever,” Simelane said.

She added that she has always been ambitious and always wanted to beat her third term results of 87 per cent. “I would say the reason I was able to beat my previous average term mark was that of my time management in-between studying as I believe that time management is everything.”

The top achiever added that she planned to study medicine at the University of Pretoria. “I have always wanted to study medicinal engineering and civil engineering and I plan to try to do them simultaneously.”

When asked what her message was for the Class of 2018, Simelane said that they should know what they want, studying wisely, have a plan and time management and to keep their bodies healthy by resting enough.

“I would not recommend that they pull an all-nighter as that will not be good for their brain performance. They should rather rest enough and plan their studying time.”

Simelane concluded that in the next five years’ time she will most probably still be studying her tertiary phase as she wished to acquire a master’s degree. “I will continue studying till I achieve what I would love to achieve and I will also put in the time for internships, and maybe I will see if I can do them both.”
