This is what’s on the cards for Ward 112

MIDRAND – Councillor Hicklin welcomes all residents into the new year and lays down the plans for the year.

Ward 112 councillor Madeleine Hicklin is set to continue developing the community this year.

“I pray you had a blessed festive break and are coming into the new year refreshed and ready to rejuvenate our stagnant economy. The year ahead holds so much promise that we all have to be a part of creating,” said Hicklin.

“The infrastructure and housing backlogs have affected all strata of society from the very poor to the very rich. No maintenance of the roads, burst pipes, water or electricity infrastructure for an extended period of time has taken its toll and caused levels of frustration in all our residents.”

In terms of the Integrated Development Plan, approved projects which will begin this year in Ward 112 include the construction of the Carlswald Reservoir; the construction of the Erand Water Tower, and the upgrading of the Carlswald Sewer Line.

In addition, the councillor plans to build a bridge between Sagewood and Noordwyk and establishment a proper sports field in the ward.

“I invite you to become part of the solution to the problems we face on a daily basis because I cannot do it alone.”
