The family of murdered Simon Bush, a loving husband and father who was allegedly shot and killed last month, confirmed that police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
According his wife, renowned author and speaker Nikki Bush, her husband was shot in the chest at about 3am on 18 November.
“My husband went to check why our family dog was barking, however, when he opened the door, he was senselessly shot and killed,” Nikki said.
Nikki added that she was, however, grateful that her eldest son, Ryan, was not home during the incident but that the murder has affected the whole family.
“My youngest son, Matthew, who is writing matric, was held at gunpoint. I was, fortunately, able to lock myself in the bathroom with my cellphone and called for help.”
She added that she and Matthew were unharmed, and the intruders left with what they could carry.
Reports stated that the intruders took two laptops, two cellphones and a handbag.
“We are dealing with the trauma ‘moment by moment’ as we are all extremely traumatised and are taking each day as it comes. We are still too shocked to even be angry, although we know this attack has shocked and angered so many of you, both near and far.
“We appreciate and value the strength of the community’s unity behind them. A murder investigation is underway and we hope there will be closure.”
