Spreading happiness in Diepsloot

DIEPSLOOT– Read about how children of Diepsloot will receive some happiness.

The annual charity drive, Delivering Happiness to Diepsloot, is set to take place again this year with plans to put smiles on the faces of the children of Diepsloot.

The charity drive driven by Steyn City will take place on 22 November and it will see trucks filled with schoolbags crammed with stationery and sweets being delivered to various schools in Diepsloot.

In its fifth time running, the charity drive is seen as important as many of the children reached through the campaign are sons and daughters of people who work at Steyn City. “So Delivering Happiness to Diepsloot is our way of supporting the workers who work here,” said Steyn City’s public relations officer, Marie Yossava.

Yossava said, “We are calling on all neighbouring communities to get involved this year by pledging a bag.

“At the previous campaign we delivered a record number of bags thanks to all the pledges received from individuals taking part in the Touch Invitational Golf Day.

“We will have the same support from all of our exciting and glamorous celebrities – including radio presenter and Steyn City ambassador Tbo Touch, TV personality Maps Maponyane, Olympic swimmer Roland Schoeman, Alex Caige of 947, Kaya FM DJ Thomas Msengana and television presenter Lunga Shabalala – but we need you to make a difference.”

The annual project has reached 9 000 primary schoolchildren in Diepsloot.
