In recognition of World Food Day on 16 October, employees of the Samsung concept store in Rosebank went out into the streets of Johannesburg to hand out food packs to destitute people.
“There are many people that don’t have a square meal every day and they go to bed with an empty stomach. It was such an incredible feeling to know that today they will go to sleep feeling satisfied,” said public relations officer, Narisha Somaroo.
World Food Day is a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger.
Held annually in October, people from around the world come together to declare their commitment to eliminating worldwide hunger.
