A shootout ensued between suspected hijackers and security guards on Robert Bruce Road in Beverley this afternoon (18 October).
Douglasdale Community Policing Forum chairperson, Jean Berdou said the suspects attempted to hijack a driver on Robert Bruce Road and the security guards noticed.
He said a shootout ensued between the suspects and the security guards. The suspects fled the scene and were headed in the direction of the Indaba Hotel.

Berdou said police have launched an operation to track down the suspects.
“There were no injuries,” said Berdou.
