Update on Cedar Road construction

FOURWAYS – Jodan Construction released a statement regarding the roadworks on Cedar Road.

James Rosslee, the Senior Production Manager of Jodan Construction, has released a media statement with regards to the roadworks moving forward:
The Cedar Road project started on Monday 28 August after we managed to get an interdict against those who stopped the construction works. All construction continued again on 30 August as normal.
Our programme for the next two weeks is as follow:
• All preparation work between Uranium Road and Stinkwood Close on the right-hand site will be completed this week and the final layer will be constructed early next week
• Next week Wednesday, we will start asphalt between Valley and Frederick roads. Lombardy Road will be closed for periods, during Wednesday and Thursday
• By Thursday 18 September, we should have traffic flow from Stinkwood Road to Valley Road contra flow on the right-hand site, and on Uranium Road to Stinkwood Close a double carriageway on both sides.
The Uranium Road intersection will be repaired during the same period. The damage to the road is due to a new product we were instructed to test by the consulting engineers and manufacturers. But, as everyone can see, this was not a successful experiment.
With all the stoppages and hassles, we expect completion of both carriageways on Cedar Road by the end of November.
