Suspect caught with ‘stolen’ chairs in Bloubosrand

FOURWAYS – The police arrested a man who allegedly stole five plastic chairs from a Bloubosrand property.

 

A man was arrested by the Douglasdale Police because he allegedly stole five plastic chairs from a Bloubosrand resident’s property at approximately 10.12pm on 20 June.

Xolani Ngubane from Night Guard was doing a drive-about when he saw the man carrying five chairs. When Ngubane asked him where he found the chairs the man said he found them near the rubbish dump. Ngubane told the man to take the chairs back to the place where he found them and to be on his way.

Two community watch members were doing their walkabout when Ngubane told them about the incident. After Ngubane found the suspect again, he arrested him and the Douglasdale police took him away,” said Lionel Sawyer, area manager for Night Guard.

Trevor du Plessis, the owner of the chairs, said he feels like his privacy has been invaded.
