Councillor David Foley invited the Fourways community to a public meeting at Indaba Hotel on 2 May, to discuss bad driving behaviour in Fourways.

The evening was a success because residents could openly discuss how the bad behaviour of drivers on the roads has affected them in their areas.

“Residents had a platform to raise their concerns in a public forum with senior police and Metro police officials, including the councillors for the greater Fourways area,” said Foley.

Queries about speeding, mini bus drivers, visibility of the Metro police and police, traffic demerits and drunken driving were discussed. Foley explained that all the queries have been listed and will now be put into an action plan that will be under regular intervention and management.

Community members attend a meeting at the Indaba hotel to discuss bad driving behaviour in the greater Fourways area.

Foley said, “It is important for residents to have a forum to air their particular issues or compliments and engage with the authorities and councillors face to face so their voices [can] be heard.”
