Young SA model heads to the top in USA

Miné van Heerden (13) has been invited to perform on an international platform at the International Applause Rising Talent Showcase (Arts) convention in Orlando Florida, USA, in July.

Van Heerden, who is homeschooled, is very dedicated to her dream of becoming an international actress and fashion runway model. “When I am acting, I can become anything I want. Watching the models on the runway inspires me knowing that it can be me walking the international runways,” said the dedicated youngster.

Tiffany Maitin, former Arts contestant and now a model in New York, is Van Heerden’s role model at the moment. “She is the perfect example of showing that you can become your dream through hard work combined with passion.”

According to Anna-Marie van Heerden, Minè’s mother, the International Arts Talent Showcase has been making dreams come true for South Africans seeking a career in the arts by providing them with a platform to showcase their talent for international talent scouts and founder of the Arts, Kim Myers from the US.

In October last year, Van Heerden joined hundreds of talented actors, singers, dancers and models, who received the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their talent in front of Myers at Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp.

Van Heerden performed a monologue, walked the runway and also met international performers, Nate Butler and Blaze Johnson.

She is currently training at the Just-You Model and Artist Management Training Academy in Rivonia.

Van Heerden will compete in monologue, TV commercial, film scene, dancing, fashion runway, swimwear, creative run way and photography at the showcase in July.
