Fourways resident announced as Mrs SA semi-finalist

FOURWAYS – Community members are called to support Mrs SA hopeful and Fourways resident, Nicole Capper.

Fourways resident, Nicole Capper has been announced as one of the top 100 semi-finalists for the Mrs South Africa pageant.

Capper is a functional medicine pharmacist who owns her own guesthouse and also finds time to model and emcee at events.

“I am passionate about health and wellness and preventative medicine, but my biggest passion is my family,” said Capper.

The Mrs SA semi-finalist hopeful has two children, aged five and one, and supports her husband Brian’s career as a professional extreme athlete in motorsport.

Capper decided to enter the pageant after her daughter was diagnosed with the life-limiting rare disease, cystic fibrosis at six weeks old.

“I had a choice to allow a disease to steal our family’s purpose and use it as an excuse for complacency, or decide to achieve my dreams despite it, to show my children that nothing can hold them back from achieving their goals and dreams,” Capper said.

To have any aspect of a normal life, Capper’s daughter needed to complete hours of difficult treatments each day to fight progressive lung damage.

“She is my inspiration, she never complains. She fights without knowing it was ever a choice. I want to be like her, with every breath I live to inspire her like she inspires me,” Capper remarked.

The pageant beauty founded an organisation, Inside Out which connects the youth of South Africa with their sporting and business heroes at school events, who inspire them to find their strengths, celebrate them and to work hard to achieve their full potential.

To date, Capper has taken her message of hope to more than 1 700 schoolchildren.

“If just one child decides to believe in him or herself and can realise the greatness they were destined for, then it is all worthwhile.”

For the pageant, only 25 women will be selected to continue the journey and will be announced at the annual Cancer Association of South Africa gala dinner on 28 April at Emperors Palace’s Centre Court.

All proceeds from the event will go to the pageant’s official charity, the Cancer Association of South Africa.
