Keep safe as school holidays approach

JOBURG – Read what Penny Steyn says about crime over holidays.

How to prevent crime during the holiday season is something the community as a whole should be thinking about, since school holidays are approaching.

Domestic Watch, presented by Penny Steyn will focus on this issue. Everyone who attends the meetings will be given a document with important crime prevention information. “It applies to those that stay at home and those who travel, homeowners and their staff, I urge all to take this lesson seriously,” said Steyn.

She added that during the holiday season, criminals tended to go on a ‘feeding frenzy’. “If we do not take precautions and put useful information to use, our properties, households and staff can become victims of vicious crimes.

“There are trends that the criminals use ahead of and during the holiday season to con employers, domestics and gardeners. We have to know what ploys they use, old trusted crime ploys, in my experience, rear their heads particularly over holiday seasons.”

The cost to attend the meeting is R50.
