Calculators for Diepsloot schoolchildren

DIEPSLOOT – Diepsloot Combined School received about 500 calculators from the Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre as part of its back-to-school drive in January.

 

Diepsloot Combined School children received about 500 scientific calculators from the Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre as part of a back-to-school drive that the shopping centre hosted during January.

The calculators can cost between R100 to R300 to purchase new and are necessary for science and mathematics calculations at high school level. They were given to the school as part of Fourways Crossing’s corporate social investment initiative.

“We wanted to give back to the community [and] establish a relationship with the community around our centre,” said Melissa Holtzhausen on behalf of Fourways Crossing.

About 1 500 schoolchildren attend Diepsloot Combined School.
