Fourways Business Network Morning with Di Boyack

FOURWAYS – To kickstart your business, read on...

The monthly Business Network Morning was held at Hirsch’s Fourways and networkers had the honour of meeting the founder of Hirsch’s Homestore, Allan Hirsch.

Guest speaker was Di Boyack who has 23 years experience in training many leaders and managers from corporate to small businesses. Boyack challenged everyone about the importance of asking the right questions. The first concept she taught was triangulation, which means to seek out information from different people with different perspectives. Boyack explained that, so often we partner with people who we like or who are similar to us, which may reduce conflict, but miss the opportunity to get hard and honest feedback. “The feedback is often vague and gives no room for us to grow and improve ourselves,” said Boyack.

She also spoke about a concept, Q and Q, which is when to ask questions and when to be quiet, and just listen.

“Everyone was asked to write down five questions we would ask ourselves that are critical to the success of our business,” said Hirsch’s PRO Sharron Dingle. “We had to triangulate and share these questions with others in the room. This created a buzz of animated conversation, with the group making comments and giving feedback. The insights and learnings were profound.”
