Taxi and car collide, eight injured

FOURWAYS – Eight people have been left injured after taxi collision

Eight people have been left injured after a taxi and light motor vehicle collided at the intersection of Leslie Road and William Nicol Drive on 2 February.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, the incident occurred at 6.15am and, upon arrival, ER24 paramedics along with other emergency services, found that the taxi had come to a stop on the side of the road while the light motor vehicle had stopped in the middle of the intersection.

“Several passengers of the taxi, as well as both drivers, were found walking around on the scene. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that eight of them had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” Meiring said.

He added that fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported. “The patients were treated for their injuries and were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.”

The exact cause of this collision is not yet known, however, local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
