Without domestic workers, a house is not a home

FOURWAYS – Hirsch's trains domestics because the store realises how important they are.

Hirsch’s Fourways, which acknowledges that domestic workers play a vital role in households, held a training workshop in Fourways recently, aimed at educating them about safety, as well as household and personal security.

The workshop was presented by Adele Guthrie and Lizzie’s Maids spokesperson, Sharron Dingle, who spoke about caring for laminated and marble floors, among other surfaces. There was also a demonstration on how to use a Philips steam iron and Miele vacuum cleaner.

The domestic workers were given entry forms for entering the Margaret Hirsch domestic of the month competition, which will give them a chance to win a Hirsch’s gift voucher worth R300. The competition will also enable them to attend the domestic of the year high tea in August, when the winner will be announced.
