Michael Mount matrics celebrate

BRYANSTON – Michael Mount's views on education are far greater than just imparting academic knowledge.

Michael Mount Waldorf School’s Class of 2016 celebrated yet another year of a 100 per cent matric rate.

A total of 29 pupils wrote their IEB national senior certificate and, due to their hard work and support from dedicated teachers and committed parents, last year’s matric class is ready for life beyond the school gates.

According to the Bryanston school, their views on education are far greater than just imparting academic knowledge and, as such, the school hesitates to categorise children or only applaud those who achieve academically. “We aim to help every pupil to develop into a well-rounded, creative and independent thinker. We, as a school, have never boasted large numbers of distinctions, but neither has it had any matric failures,” said school management.

Nathan Jones achieved seven distinctions and was placed in the IEB top 5 per cent of matrics based on aggregate.
