Guest speaker for the session was Dr Elize Ellis who has a master’s degree in educational linguistics and a PhD in educational management. She spoke about the reaction people get when they view a small black dot on a white page and related it to people’s lives and the challenges they encounter on a day-to-day basis.

“Do we allow the black dot to overpower the page or do we ask a challenging question about what is the blessing in our particular challenge. Once we put things into perspective, it does make things easier as they then become simply an occurrence instead of a tidal wave of emotion and sometimes trauma,” said Ellis.
