Workshop on Autism

JOBURG– Professor Tony Attwood will host a series of workshops on autism spectrum disorder.

 

Bellavista S.H.A.R.E, the Education Resource Centre of Bellavista School will be hosting Professor Tony Attwood for a series of workshops.

The independent remedial school, Bellavista S.H.A.R.E in Johannesburg will host the workshops on 17 and 18 January and is aimed at educators, remedial therapists, classroom facilitators, parents, health professionals and anyone who lives or works with someone with autism spectrum disorder.

The event will take place at the FNB Conference Centre in Sandton and marks Prof. Attwood’s first visit to South Africa. He is a leader in the field of autism spectrum disorder. He currently works in his own private practice and is also an adjunct professor at Griffith University in Queensland and senior consultant at the Minds and Hearts clinic in Brisbane.

On 20 January, Prof. Attwood will deliver a master class for health and education professionals who see children and/or adolescents with Asperger’s syndrome. The professionals include psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, GPs, paediatric psychiatrists and paediatricians.
