Unity College proudly opened their new therapeutic pool for their special needs children recently.

The project was made possible by Growthpoint Properties in collaboration with Penguin Pools which heeded Unity colleges’ request in October last year.

Unity’s principal, Bruce Lindsay said, “We make a living from what we get, but we make a life from what we give.”

The pool was completed in April, and the official opening included some very sentimental speeches by Growthpoint properties’, Engelbert Binedell and, of course, the principal.

“This beautiful pool will not only enhance our curricular offering but also enrich the lives of each pupil at school,” said Michelle Kirk, advancement officer at Unity College.

A relationship of many years between Growthpoint and Unity College has been solidified with the donation of the pool, and through further assistance in a personal capacity, the relationship was extended, she added.

Kirk said that with all the additional support, Unity College was going from strength to strength and was providing for its special needs children, one step at a time.

“Our school is so privileged to have company partners such as Growthpoint Properties and Penguin Pools. Our sincere thanks to special benefactors who will never fully understand the extent or impact of their generosity, but our [children] whose lives are forever enhanced, will feel it,” concluded Kirk.
