Check on me, please

Don't leave your safety to chance, read more.

There are many stories going around about people who find themselves in troubling situations with no way for them to contact an ambulance or the police, in case of an emergency.

Check-on-Me is a programme founded and developed by Theresa Paymans, who developed the programme to create a safety line in case of emergencies. Check-on-Me is not a cellphone application, it is a programme that an individual subscribes to. All you need to do to become part of the programme, is an application form and a cellphone so that Check-on-Me and your loved ones can get hold of you.

“Don’t believe that it won’t happen to you; this might just save your life,” said Paymans.

To apply for the programme or to receive your free seven-day trial, you can log on to Check-On-Me

“The process is simple and very user-friendly,” said Paymans. She added that it is a programme for all ages and all types of people and that it gives people a settling feeling that they are being looked after.

Basically, the programme works so that when you apply, you provide three emergency contacts, for example, your spouse or other reliable family members. Then, you will get a secret security code that you have to enter when your Check-on-Me gives you your daily notifications (you can decide on the times of day). If you fail to send your code after you have received your notification or if you send an incorrect code, Check-on-Me will automatically let your emergency contact know that something is wrong.

“This programme only works within the borders of South Africa. If you leave the country or go to a place where you won’t have any signal, just let us know and we’ll put you on hold until you’re back,” said Paymans.

She added by saying that when you decide who your emergency contacts will be, you have to keep in mind that they should be people who check their phones regularly.

“Don’t leave your safety to chance,” said Paymans.
