Community joins hands for Top Cop Awards

FOURWAYS - Auto & General, Fourways Review and the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF) recently launched the Top Cop Awards.

Auto & General, Fourways Review and the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF) recently launched the Top Cop Awards, an exciting initiative which will celebrate and appreciate those South African Police officers who work tirelessly on and behind the scenes to ensure the community’s safety.

The awards will give the public the opportunity to nominate and vote for officers from Douglasdale Police Station who they believe have excelled in the line of duty. Community members who wish to nominate an officer can do so by filling out a form available at Douglasdale Police Station.

Every month, Fourways Review will publish the nominations in print and online and readers are asked to vote for who they think deserves to win.

The winner of each month will receive R2 500 from Auto & General.

On top of this, there will also be six other categories in which winners will receive a certificate and cheque to the value of R500. These winners will be selected by the Douglasdale CPF. These categories comprise Best Shift, Best Detective, Best Support, Best Vispol Member Operational (Outside) andBest Vispol Member Operational (Inside) be nominated for the year-end Top Cop Award and voting will be done by the public. The overall Top Cop will win a whopping R25 000. The grand total of prizes sponsored by Auto & General amounts to more than R100 000.

All prize money will be handed to Douglasdale CPF and will be distributed by them to the respective winners.
