Police arrest 50 suspects

DOUGLASDALE– Read to see what the 50 suspects were arrested for.

 

In an endeavour to eradicate crime in the Fourways area, Douglasdale police officers conducted an operation on 22 to 23 September, which resulted in the arrest of 50 suspects.

According to the head of communications at Douglasdale Police Station, Captain Mpho Kgasoane, the suspects were arrested for different crimes. “The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from common robbery, rape, loitering, drinking in public, possession of dagga, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of suspected stolen property and reckless and negligent driving.”

Kgasoane has appealed to members of the community to continue working together with the police. “We believe that the police, together with the community, can win the fight against crime. All that the community needs to do is to report all criminal activity happening in their area to the police station,” she concluded.
