Junior College kids take audience to Candy Land

SUNNINGHILL – Pupils from Junior College Sunninghill were just the sweetest things during their annual school concert, Candy Land.

Junior Colleges Sunninghill hosted their annual school concert on Saturday, 10 September at Crawford Fourways, and it was a sweet success.

The concert’s theme this year was Candy Land, and all pupils from the school performed on stage, from those aged four months right up to those aged six and in Grade R.

“Being part of a production such as this encourages children from a young age to work together towards a common goal and helps to develop their confidence and self-esteem,” said principal Laverne Machridza.

“Although the stage is not for everyone, this experience was focused on the individual child having fun and enjoying themselves, rather than perfection.”

And while it was the children on stage, it was a school-wide effort, as it was staff who made the props which decorated the hall and organised the rental of costumes from Kiddies Costume Fantasy.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Junior Colleges Sunninghill’s concert was a great success that was thoroughly enjoyed by both the children and the audience. All our children outdid themselves on stage and all eyes were on them,” added Machridza.
