Come get your hands dirty this Spruit Day

PAULSHOF – The Paulshof Residents Association invites you to participate in this year's Spruit Day clean-up.

The Paulshof Residents Association is one of 22 resident associations working together to make this year’s Spruit Day as successful as it has been in previous years.

This time, it will be focusing on the increase of awareness of the Spruit and provide an opportunity for the public to join and make a difference by cleaning a section of the Spruit in their beloved local part of the Johannesburg Green Belt.

The community will be supporting the annual clean-up of the Braamfontein Spruit and Sandspruit, a wonderful opportunity for all users and admirers of the green belt to contribute to this fantastic clean-up campaign. Whether you are a walker, runner, dog walker or horse rider and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of our rivers – bring yourself, your children, other family members and join in.

Remember, for school children needing some community service hours, Spruit Day counts.

There will be removing litter along the river banks, clearing alien vegetation, trimming indigenous vegetation and even planting some trees. Trash bags will be provided, however, it is requested that all bring some basic gardening equipment, a strong pair of gloves, strong shoes, a hat and refreshments.

Paulshof has two meeting points this year:

q The stables on Achter Road

q The open area on the corner of Stonehaven and Brackenhill roads.

The official time to start is 9am, but some people will be there from 8.30am on 17 September.
