This is why Fourways Review, along with Auto and General and the Fourways Community Policing Forum (CPF), have put in place the monthly Top Cop Award to recognise the job and efforts done by policemen and women.

Nominated for the best support category, Stanley Raophala said he was very happy and appreciated being recognised by his colleagues at the station. “I am committed to improving more on my performance,” he said.

“What I intend to do with the money is to buy myself something that will remind me of this occasion of being recognised at the station.”

Colonel Happy Xaba said, “His function is to ensure that dockets which are closed or finalised are correctly filed. His main function is administration,” Xaba said.

“On 14 July, Raophala was requested to draw a docket from 2010, which had been filed. Upon drawing the docket, he perused the information and found that the member of the public who was inquiring on the case, was a wanted suspect in this docket, and a warrant of arrest had been issued for the suspect.”

He added that Raophala has shown himself to be a dedicated employee of the police force. “He does not just see his work as purely administrative, but is willing to think outside the box and be proactive in the fight against crime.

“He is part of the police family and has taken hands with his fellow police employees to ensure that, through a united front, we will keep addressing professional service delivery as well as combating crime.”

To vote for Stanley Raophala SMS ‘TOP COP’ to 33657, along with ‘Raophala’ before 16 September.

SMSes are charged at R1.50.
