Female hip-hop rapper hijacked, assaulted in Kyalami

Female rapper, Barbara Wedi also known as ‘Rouge’ was allegedly hijacked and violently assaulted in Kyalami in the early hours of the morning of 13 August.

According to reports, Wedi was allegedly attacked at around 1am when she was on her way home from a performance at Cantare in Montecasino.

David Gresham Entertainment Group confirmed reports that Wedi, who is one of the company’s female hip-hop stars, was hijacked and violently assaulted.

The 23-year-old French-speaking rapper was badly beaten during the hijacking and sustained severe bruising to her face. Her car was stolen and later recovered, and due to her traumatic experience, Wedi has cancelled her TV and live performances in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
