Meet your new Ward 93 councillor

After long hours of counting community members’ votes, the IEC revealed that Candice James is the new ward councillor for Ward 93.

“I am over the moon that the Democratic Alliance (DA) will continue to serve and look after the ward. I am also excited that I will continue being a councillor and taking over from councillor Annette Deppe who has served this ward,” said James.

“My goal for this ward is to make sure we serve and give residents the service they deserve. I plan to adhere to their concerns and perform my duties to the best of my abilities.”

James, who was the councillor for Ward 112, has been involved in projects to help underprivileged children when she worked with DA Diepsloot councillor, Refilwe Mathebula in assisting children from poor families.

Ward 93 comprises Sunninghill, Paulshof, Lonehill and Douglasdale.

Deppe has moved to Ward 132.
