UPDATE: Stolen saddles and tack syndicate suspects caught on camera

CHARTWELL – Saddles and tack have been stolen yet again.

It seems the same gang, allegedly involved in many horse riding equipment robberies in Kyalami, Centurion and surrounding areas, has hit again and the Douglasdale Police Station and Intelligence Bureau are urging the public to assist in bringing the people to book.

This after the suspects were recently caught on a surveillance camera stealing saddles and tack, among other equipment, from stables in Chartwell. Stills from the footage were shared on Neighbourhood Watch Sector 1 and the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum’s Facebook pages.

The pictures show a group of men stealing horse riding equipment. A forensic investigator of the Intelligence Bureau team, who only goes by the name of Warren, said the team is looking for assistance with any information regarding the stolen tack and equipment. All information and leads given by community members will be confidential.

“Your information will be kept strictly confidential and your assistance will be much appreciated,” Warren promised.

Head of communications for the Douglasdale Police Station, Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, stated that a few cases have been reported at the police station and he urged community members who have information regarding the robbery to please contact them and help take down the criminals.
