Teams with cleaning equipment and trucks from Specialist Area and Improvement Districts, Londoloza Security, Fidelity Security Services, SLA Medical Services, South African Police Services, together with a large group of staff and vehicles from 91.9 Hot FM radio station including their managing director, Lloyd Madurai, and teams of management and staff from Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre and community volunteers joined forces in their commitment to clean up the area.

Four truckloads of refuse weighing five tonnes each were removed from the site.

The teams also planted gardens opposite Douglasdale Police Station while another team working with Sector 1 Community Police Forum and Neighbourhood Watch removed large quantities of rubble and refuse from the police station’s premises.

Another team cleared the intersection of Witkoppen and Cedar roads as far as Montecasino.
