Recognised and nominated for #TopCop Award

FOURWAYS - Read to find out who is nominated for Top Cop Award and the reason why.

GOOD service is seen as a priority by community members visiting Douglasdale Police Station to report a crime or in need of help.

An officer who provides excellent service at the station is Constable Innocent Mmola who has been nominated for June’s Top Cop Award in the Best Vispol category.

“The core commitment made by the police is to serve and protect the community,” said Happy Xaba, head of support at the station.

“But so much of this commitment made by our policemen and women sometimes goes unnoticed by the general public. The many hours that are worked, often in difficult and sometimes dangerous circumstances, make the work of police officers strenuous, stressful and unforgiving.”

Xaba added that a visit to the station by community members was usually not made out of choice but rather due to unfortunate circumstances. “It is, therefore, against this background that we salute and recognise the commitment shown by Constable Mmola to her daily work at the Client Service Centre of the Douglasdale Police Station,” he said.

“Mmola has a consistently positive attitude, patience and a desire to help and assist community members. She puts in many hours at the station to make sure that the community is assisted in all possible ways. She is able to defuse potentially unpleasant situations, which is an important quality to possess when dealing with community members who come to the station.”

To vote for Innocent Mmola, SMS ‘TOP COP MMOLA’ to 33657 by 25 July.

SMSes charged at R1.50.
