Woodrock Animal Rescue needs your help

DIEPSLOOT – Help Woodrock Animal Rescue find loving homes for these dogs

Woodrock Animal Rescue, a non-profit animal shelter situated in the Hennops River Valley just north of Diepsloot is looking for loving homes for four of their dogs.

The rescue centre provides a place of refuge for abused and abandoned animals, which are then placed in good homes.

Founder of the shelter Estelle Meldau said, “Every animal deserves a second chance and thus every effort is made to match the most suitable rescue to the most suitable home, thereby minimising the chances of having to re-home if it doesn’t work out.”

The rescue centre is also involved with the community and continuously educates the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilisation and responsible pet ownership.

Meldau explained that as a township initiative, Woodrock regularly spays and neuters animals from these communities, supplies shelter and comfort to these animals in the form of dog kennels and blankets, provides inoculation and veterinary services including rabies injections, and conducts a regular dipping service.

Puppies that are adopted are only taken if assurances and follow-ups are made regarding sterilisation once the puppy comes of age.

A LITTLE SMILE: Balloo is a four-year-old short legged fox terrier. He is very active and sporty, very confident and loving. He prefers the company of a female dog.

This is strictly monitored as Woodrock aims at all costs to eliminate the increase in animal breeding when there are so many unwanted animals out there looking for a home.

Meldau urged those looking for new pets to consider adoption.
