Rocking in Heels to promote fitness

BRYANSTON – Find out why women are Rocking in Heels to promote fitness.

Counting one, two and three was the order of the day for women who came to the Rocking in Heels dancing class held at Dance Junxion in Bryanston, as they learnt dance routines to promote healthy living on 21 May.

Hosted by Albany Low GI bread and Ntombezinhle Jiyane, also known as DJ Zintle, a well-known DJ and TV personality, the aim of the class was to promote fitness and healthy living for women in the community. “Many people have been asking me how I lost my baby weight. I tell them that it is all about making the right food choices and, like everyone else, I love bread and I enjoy making healthy sandwiches,” Jiyane said.

The one-hour class led by was dance instructor, Nkateko Maswanganye, also known as Takkies, saw women sweating with thighs aching.

“I am very passionate about eating healthy and staying active. One cannot exercise and not have a healthy diet, hence, we are here promoting… a healthy lifestyle [and teach women what they] can do to stay healthy,” Jiyane said.
