Sit down with new headmaster of Summit College Prep School

KYALAMI - New headmistress of Summit College Preparatory, Cheryl Naidoo expresses her love of providing education.

Summit College Preparatory School has appointed their new headmistress, Cheryl Naidoo.

She sat down with Fourways Review to speak about her future plans for the school. “I love children and love to see them grow,” she said.

“Interacting with them is the most intriguing part, especially experiencing their honesty and sincerity. My aim is to instil the love of learning in them as I believe education plays a pivotal part in a child’s life.”

Naidoo added that she is passionate about Corporate Social Investment (CSI) projects. “At my previous job as duty principal of Crawford Preparatory Pretoria, I was able to help establish a library called Readers are Leaders which I left the school with, and now here at Summit we would love to give back to two [undisclosed] nursery schools by giving them blankets, knitting beanies and scarfs as well as establishing what more they are in need of.”

She added that every term the school targeted a CSI project. “The first term we were involved in animal care, now it is giving back to the two nursery schools; all pupils are included in these projects,” Naidoo said.

She said she felt welcomed by pupils and the staff of the school. “Being a principal has always been a dream of mine, especially coming from a disadvantaged background where learning and equipping yourself was of importance. When one sets out their goals and achieves them, it shows how determined one can be.”
