After 29 weeks, grass along the K60, a provincial road reserve in Paulshof, has finally been cut.
Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe said, “It is a provincial road reserve and policy says they must maintain this reserve twice a year.”
Deppe explained that the grass posed a security risk to children who walked up the K60 from Umhlanga Road to Sefikeng Primary School, situated on the Leeukop prison grounds.
Lita Jacobsen, a member of the Paulshof Working Group, added that the long grass also posed a fire and security threat for houses on both sides of the K60.
