Diepsloot resident, Ian Manyesa, made a gruesome discovery in a stream in Ext 1 in Diepsloot on 14 May.
Manyesa was on his way to work when he saw a suspicious-looking object floating in the stream. “Upon close examination, I discovered that it was the corpse of a woman,” he said.
He alerted both Dieplsoot police and the community, with community members immediately flocking to the scene to witness the horrific find. The forensic team only arrived four hours after the body was discovered by Manyesa.
The unknown woman, who is believed to be between the ages of 30 and 35, is believed to have been murdered before being dumped in the river.
Diepsloot police are investigating.
