Mother’s Day with a difference

FOURWAYS - Pupils showcase their love to their mothers and guardians.

Grade 3 pupils of Crawford Preparatory Fourways celebrated Mother’s Day differently this year.

The themed celebration called Up close and personal, saw the pupils taking to the school hall’s stage as they sang, performed poetry and made heartfelt dedications to their mothers or guardians.

Wearing costumes, the mothers and guardians were entertained with singing and performances by the pupils who expressed their love and appreciation for them.

Alumni of Crawford Preparatory Lonehill, Roxanne Goodchild shared a special tribute to community members, school members and her mother for being there for her in her hardest times after being involved in a car accident in North West.

Goodchild expressed her love for her mother who was with her every step of her recovery.

Principal of the school, Ian Rothman said, “The love and care that children receive from their families is very important, and I would like to thank the mothers and guardians for being with their children through their good, bad and tough times. Today we celebrate caring people like you because if it was not for you, we would not have these children in our school.”

The school’s music director, Mercia Silcock along with the pupils, closed with a message, thanking all the people who play a role in their young lives as they groom them to be better citizens in the community.
