KYALAMI - A member of the equestrian community in Kyalami, who was involved in a hit-and-run accident, is out of hospital.

The admired and beloved member of the equestrian community in Kyalami, Agnes Phiri, is out of hospital. This after she was injured in a hit-and-run accident and needed specialised medical care for her injuries.

Family friend, Natalie Hogg said, “Aggie has had her operation and is now out of hospital. She is also receiving treatment for her injuries.”

Hogg further explained that Phiri is recovering well and will start undergoing laser treatment on her face and arm. “What is left is for Aggie to have her teeth fixed. A dental technician has approached me and offered to construct her teeth, but we still need a dentist to fit them,” Hogg said.

Phiri, who is a former GHS & KPC employee, was hit by a car while waiting for a taxi near Fourways Mall. The incident occurred when she took her car in for a service, and while waiting for a taxi under the bridge near Fourways Mall, protecting herself from the rain, she was hit by an out of control vehicle which left her in a critical condition with her face severely disfigured and her right arm badly broken.

“I appreciate the support from the community and how amazing they have been during this time for Aggie. It was very heartwarming to see that people are always there to help,” Hogg expressed.
