10 injured in taxi collision

DIEPSLOOT – A taxi collision on the R511 leaves 10 people injured. Find out more here.

 

A total of 10 people were injured after two taxis collided on the R511 in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, on 12 April.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, explained that ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find one taxi lying on its side in a gutter, while the second taxi was parked a few metres away up the road.

Meiring said, “On assessment, paramedics found that 10 occupants from the two taxis had been injured in the collision. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that their injuries ranged from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene.”

The patients were treated for their injuries and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment by paramedics.

The cause of the collision is subject to an investigation by local authorities.
