Fourways Auto Tech gives back to Douglasdale police

DOUGLASDALE – Andrew Goltman of Fourways Auto Tech – Car Care Centre and his team have been giving back to the community on a weekly basis by volunteering to wash the entire fleet of the Douglasdale Police Station's vehicles.

“On behalf of the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum, we would like to commend Goltam for the incredible support and service. He selflessly gave back by helping wash and keep clean a number of the police vehicles,” chairperson of the CPF, Jean Berdou said.

Berdou said that an appeal was sent out to the community and Goltman responded. “It is this kind of community response and kindness that sustains us in endeavours that keep our community safe,” he said.

He added that the Douglasdale police also sent out an appeal for computers and iPads and the community responded amazingly. They, however, are still in need of two laptops and two iPads.

“The Douglasdale community, optimised by Goltman, are amazing and are a privilege to work with, ” Berdou concluded.

Head of communications for Douglasdale Police Station, Warrant Officer Balan Muthan said, “We appreciate Goltman’s generous offer as we do not have a wash bay at the station where the vehicles can be washed and kept clean at all times.

“By the help and participation from the members of the community, it shows that a better relationship between the community and the police can be built. It is also wonderful to see such businessmen and companies offering their services to help the community.”
