Man busted for possession of dagga

MIDRAND - Two Midrand police officers were doing a routine stop and search in Halfway House recently when they caught a man with dagga.

“The two officers were driving around the neighbourhood when they saw the suspicious looking man,” said Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communication at the station.

The man was arrested on South Street after the officers had requested him to stop walking and searched him, said Tlamela. “He was on foot and co-operated with the police.”

Upon searching him, the police found a bag of dagga and he was immediately cuffed. “He was booked and detained at the station and will appear at the Midrand Magistrate’s court on charges of possession of an illegal substance,” said Tlamela.

Details: Midrand Police: 011 347 1626.
