Fourways Mall explains morning blasting noise
FOURWAYS - Following concern raised among community members over a blasting sound in the Fourways area, Fourways Mall has confirmed a planned blast took place within their construction area at approximately 6am on 11 February due to upgrades and extensions of the mall.
This raised concerns within the community as many residents of Norscot, Bryanston and Paulshof took to social media stating that they have heard the blasting noise in the early hours of the morning and were curious where it came from.
As Fourways Review has previously reported on the upgrades of the mall, the mall’s management explained that the blasting was done at the previous Game parking deck adjacent to Fourways Boulevard.
“The blasting was and is required to excavate the current rock levels within the area to accommodate the mall’s expansion and re-developments,” The centre management of Fourways Mall explained.
