Tea party for Cansa at the Inanda Club

INANDA – A grand tea party hosted by Le Creuset was held at the Inanda Club for the Cuppa for Cansa initiative.

Ben Paine, managing director of Le Creuset South Africa, which sells stoneware and ceramics along with its cast iron range, said Le Creuset had come to understand the work Cansa did and wanted to align themselves with the cause.

Cansa is a non-profit organisation that enables research, educates the public and provides support to all people affected by cancer in South Africa.

About 400 guests gathered at the venue to find out how they could also be a part of the initiative by hosting their own Cuppa for Cansa tea parties during the month of October.

“These tea parties raise awareness and support the fight against cancer,” explained Paine.

“Come on board with us and host tea parties. All of them will make a difference.”

Funds were raised at the event through an auction game where various prizes were won.

Cansa ambassador and cancer survivor, Elsie du Toit was guest speaker for the day. “Don’t make your problems the giants of your life,” she said, while encouraging guests who were affected by cancer to be strong.

“Be thankful for waking up because all that is a privilege. Believe, hope and see your dream and it will come true. I thank God every day for my life.”

By Word of Mouth provided the catering for the event and organised a demonstration of how to host tea parties at home. The event was a fun-filled event aimed at getting more people hosting Cuppa for Cansa tea parties during the month of October to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer.
