Robot wars end in victory
PAULSHOF - The tug of war between Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe and a constructor over the completion of a construction project at Umhlanga and Witkoppen roads in Paulshof is finally over.
The construction company, which requested its name be withheld, finally installed a set of robots at the intersection and completed the project to Deppe’s standards.
“They have completed the project and everything we asked for has been delivered. There seem to be no other major complaints from residents,” said Deppe.
The councillor had refused to accept the project on behalf of the community a few months ago, demanding guard rails, a set of properly-functioning robots and the cleaning of the site. She said the Gauteng Department of Transport could now sign off the completed project.
