Broadacres residents spend weekend without water

Their taps ran dry on 21 August, only to be repaired on 23 August at 3pm. However, on Monday, water was again nowhere to be found in the area.

“Johannesburg Water fixed the broken pipe on Sunday, but the water taps have gone off again,” said one resident who identified herself as Lizzy.

Acting communications and marketing manager of Joburg Water, David Sibiya, said a burst pipe was repaired along Pine Street in Fourways yesterday. “This morning, a contractor working in the same area damaged our pipe and this explains why there is no water now, but we are busy fixing it,” said Sibiya.
