Crawford Lonehill hosts inaugural Polar Bear Swim

LONEHILL - Crawford Lonehill Preparatory pupils took part in the schools’ first-ever Polar Bear Swim on 31 July and swam one width of the school’s pool.

After successfully completing their swim, they were rewarded with a steaming cup of hot chocolate topped with mini marshmallows.

All swimmers donated dog or cat food as their entry fee.

Everything that was collected went to the Fourways-based non-profit organisation Pet Empowerment in Townships, which lends a helping hand to disadvantaged animals within communities. The organisation improves the lives of these animals by sterilising them and giving them meals, shelters and inoculations.
