Vets – no chocolates for dogs, please

FOURWAYS - Love your pets, but not to the extent of spoiling them with chocolates.

This was the message sent by Dr Wendy Cresswell, from Animania Veterinary Hospital of Fourways during an informative talk on 10 common household hazards that affect pets.

Scores of pet owners were workshopped by the doc on the do’s and don’ts of taking care of pets. Chocolate came top on the list of products which should be kept away from dogs. Caffeine and theobromine, which are abundant is chocolate, were singled out as very dangerous to the health of a pet.
